History of the CaixaForum Museum
The modernist Casaramona factory building was created in 1913. It worked as a cotton factory for 6 years, then had various uses until it became the property of "La Caixa" in 1963. A few years later it was declared a Site of Cultural Interest. At the end of the 20th century, reforms began to convert it into its current role as a cultural center. These works were completed in 2002, giving way to its current stage as an outstanding museum of the city of Barcelona.
