Castle with history

The Montjuïc castle is located on the top of the Montjuïc mountain built in the 18th century as it is preserved today, although a watchtower had been built previously to report the arrival of ships to the city and later in the XXVII century the first fortification was already made. Throughout history the castle has been controlled by different sides being used at some time in history to bombard the city. Currently the castle is on loan to the city, with plans to build a center for peace.

How to get to the Castle

The castle is in the highest area of the Montjuïc mountain, the recommendation to get there is with the Montjuïc cable car, it is also possible to get there on foot or by bus 150. Access is not allowed by car, having to park it in some free parking lots located 200 meters from the Castle.

Information of the Montjuïc Castle

The castle is open every day of the year except January 1 and December 25. They carry out guided tours where they can discover corners with a lot of history.

Schedule

From November 1 to February 28: 10 h. at 18 h. From March 1 to October 31: 10 h. at 20 h. Ticket office closing 30 minutes before closing time.
